I'd almost made it to Borehamwood by the time I found out, gutted Sad Surely they could have worked out the pitch was unplayable sooner.
Plus there was no recorded message on the arsenal fixture phone number to say it was cancelled.

Unfortunately the cancellation was decided by the referee extremely late I'd say about 1200ish.
We arrived at the ground at 1210 and some players were actually just leaving.
I asked one of player and she said she was sorry the game was off but the reserves was still on with a few first teamer going there.
I have been told both side wanted to play but the referee did not agree. Same thing happened with the reserves game except he changed his mind.

Leeds confirm referee's late decision :

Leeds Carnegie Ladies suffered the frustration of yet another postponed game, as their fifth round FA Women’s cup tie against holders Arsenal was called off because of a frozen pitch – 90 minutes before kick-off, and with the team just five minutes away from the ground.

The tie will now be played next Sunday, 7 February, meaning that the team will have had only two games before their all-important Premier League Cup Final.

“It’s something we could do without, but we’re getting used to it this season,” said Leeds manager Rick Passmoor. “This is the third time this season that we’ve had games called off after overnight stays.

“Both teams were ready to play, the pitch looked in good condition and the groundstaff had worked wonders on it after yesterday’s game. But the referee decided that the pitch was frozen, it was his decision and that was that.

Earlier in the day, the reserves league game at Blackburn Rovers had also been called off due to a frozen pitch.

Apparently Everton v Pompey on Sunday will be a 2pm ko, not 1pm as stated on BBC.co.uk.
