Iceland pulled off a shock 1-0 win at home to France in the UEFA Women's Championship Qualifying Group 3. Margrét Lára Vidarsdóttir made France pay for missed chances, scoring the winner on 82 minutes. Thóra Helgadóttir, in the home goal, more than played her part in the victory, with a host of terrific saves. The result leaves Iceland level on points with France at the top, but with a game still in hand.
There was no such romance for Romania though, as they crashed 7-0 at home to Sweden in Group 2, for whom Victoria Svensson rattled in five goals. Therese Sjogran set up the first after just six minutes and addeda goal of her own inside 15 minutes. Svennson struck three more times before the interval, leaving the best till last, a solo effort in the 70th minute. Lotta Schelin smashed in the seventh goal that saw the Swedes top the group, with it's only remaining 100% record.
Russia made it two wins form two in Group 6, their 3-1 defeat of Poland taking them above their visitors to replace them at the top of the table.
